Do you write historical fiction or perhaps creative non-fiction such as personal essays, memoirs or life histories, and need someone who can to clean and polish your manuscript with an eye for historical accuracy? I can help you with that.
I now also help academic writers polish their work for publication or dissertation defenses.
How Can I Help?
I started Littera Editorial Services because I want to work with people who love to tell stories. Littera is the Latin word for letter of the alphabet and a root word for literature. And in my experience (and probably yours, too!), literature is one of the best ways to learn about history, even when the story is fiction. Before I trained as an editor, I was an academic researcher in the social sciences. Now all of those research skills are focused on helping authors who want their stories to feel authentic and historically accurate. I work with writers of all stages who want to make sure their writing is clear, consistent, and correct while keeping their unique voice intact.
My services are designed to help authors polish their story and prepare it for publication, whether this is your twentieth novel or your first. Writing is hard and I want to honor the work and effort you have put into your manuscript. I offer both copy-editing and line editing with an approach that is thoughtful and sincere.
Hi, my name is Shauna McIntyre. I was born a prairie girl, but have since migrated north and west. I now live at the edge of some magnificent mountains in British Columbia.
When I don’t have my nose in a book or hovering in front of a computer, I am most likely playing outside with my husband and children. Or I might be daydreaming about travelling the world, testing lattes and pastries along the way. For now, I am happy to sip away on a homemade latte in my home office reading the world you present in your manuscript.
If you’re ready to polish your manuscript, I’m ready to help. Check out my services page to learn more about what is included.
